Typing.com ASSIGNMENT!

Intermediate: Quick Sentences :: Due FRIDAY, March 4 :: 10 Points

Typing:

1. Log in to typing.com

2. Click Lessons

3. On Intermediate Tab, Click Quick Sentences (this is due FRIDAY, March 4): 10 Pts.

4. Begin Typing (Please DO NOT GO PAST THIS LESSON! It will RESET if you do!)

NOTE!!! No late TYPING will be accepted!!!!

If you are finished or waiting, work on Clever!

  1. Students click on the Clever icon on the desktop

  2. Sign in using the username & password (same as logging into computer)

  3. Click on the square that says iReady

  4. Continue until time is up!

Lessons have been assigned to them based on their diagnostic test results both in Math and Reading. Within each lesson are brain break games. The district is pushing a goal of 45 minutes per week on Online Lessons in ELA and 45 minutes per week in Math to close the gaps found in the diagnostic. Math and ELA are providing some of that time during the week, but not all.

What you NEED to know!!!!

WHAT ARE WE LEARNING: TinkerCAD, an easy-to-use 3D CAD design tool...LESSONS!

WHY IS IT IMPORTANT: Gives the user the ability to take something that's 3D and represent it in 2D. It is essential to all industries that use 3D modeling like architects, engineers and game designers! Lessons help you learn important skills in just a few steps - so you can master 3D design in no time.

HOW WILL MY TEACHER KNOW WHAT I LEARNED: You will complete lessons on TinkerCAD and upload files you have completed through TEAMS!

Log in to our class on TinkerCad!

Your username has been made for you!

Click PERIOD BUTTON (below) to log in to YOUR class period to TinkerCAD

Select Join with NICKNAME

Your "Nickname" is your FIRST NAME and LAST NAME and YOUR PERIOD NUMBER

EXAMPLE:

Your "nickname" has been created for you!

COIN

  • Today we will create this from scratch!

CLICK CREATE NEW DESIGN

On the top left corner, click the name to change it to Coin

TIP! (before you begin!)

  • Change your Snap Grid to 0.25 mm

Next...

  • Bring a Cylinder on to the workplane

  • Make it a HOLE

  • Change the diameter to 45 mm

Another cylinder...

  • Bring another Cylinder on to the workplane

  • Change the diameter to 50 mm

  • Change the height to 10 mm

Pull the Cylinder Hole up

  • Click on the Cylinder that is the hole

  • Pull the black cone/triangle up and enter 9 mm in the box (9 mm off the workplane)

Align the cylinders...

  • Draw an imaginary box around BOTH cylinders

  • Click the alignment tool on the top right corner

  • Click the dot on the bottom center and the left center to align!

Group...

  • Draw an imaginary box around BOTH cylinders

  • Group them!

CUSTOMIZE!

  • Pick ANY shape (EXCEPT A STAR!) or letter or number and put it on the workplane

  • TIP: Look through all of the shapes and pull down menus...be creative!

  • Make the object no wider thank 40mm and no longer than 40 mm

  • Make the object 10 mm in height (Not up off the workplane!)...use the Top white handle...enter 10!

ALIGN TO THE CENTER OF COIN!

  • Move your object to the center of the coin and ALIGN

  • Draw an imaginary box around BOTH cylinders

  • Click the alignment tool on the top right corner

  • Check to see which dots make it align!

FINAL!

  • Change the COIN to ANY color other than ORANGE (NOT ORANGE!)

  • Change the object ANY color (Not the same as the coin!)

  • GROUP both

  • Select Multicolor! (This will show it as 2 colors!)

BEFORE YOU DOWNLOAD...

  • The coin MUST be TWO colors (NOT ORANGE!)

  • There must be an object on the coin (letter, number etc...NOT A STAR!)

  • ALSO FILE MUST BE NAMED Coin!

REMEMBER to add your NAME to the workplane!

  • Drag the TEXT shape onto your workplane

  • Use the Text Dialog box to enter your first name!

GETTING CREDIT!

ONCE COMPLETED!

  • Click the HOME BUTTON to view your entire workplane

  • Click SEND TO (on the TOP RIGHT!)

Click the DOWNLOAD BUTTON!

  • This will download your Workplane and all created upon it to your DOWNLOADS folder!

  • Go to our Classroom in TEAMS

  • Select Assignments

  • Select

    • TinkerCAD: Coin!

  • Scroll down to MY WORK

  • Click +ATTACH

  • Click UPLOAD FROM THIS DEVICE

  • Select DOWNLOADS (on the left)

  • Find the downloaded file and select it (it should be called Coin.png)

  • Click OPEN

  • Wait for file to upload!

  • File will show up below under My Work

  • CLICK TURN IN!

NOTE: There MUST be a file (download of project) attached to get credit. Simply clicking TURN IN will not do!!!

This assignment is worth 10 points! Make sure you COMPLETE the LESSON and attach file to assignment TEAMS to get CREDIT!
