Lessons have been assigned to them based on their diagnostic test results both in Math and Reading. Within each lesson are brain break games. The district is pushing a goal of 45 minutes per week on Online Lessons in ELA and 45 minutes per week in Math to close the gaps found in the diagnostic. Math and ELA are providing some of that time during the week, but not all.

WHAT ARE WE LEARNING: Kodu Game Lab: Game Planning Worksheet! Today you will be filling out a worksheet explaining all about the game you want to create!
WHY IS IT IMPORTANT: Learning the programs well helps us be better programmers! We are critical thinkers! Following directions helps us learn!
HOW WILL MY TEACHER KNOW WHAT I LEARNED: You will be creating a game in Kodu Game Lab using criteria given!
START BUILDING YOUR GAME!
The entire assignment is worth 200 (yes, 200!!!) points. Please see criteria below to make sure you are meeting the criteria needed!

CRITERIA!
THINGS YOUR GAME MUST HAVE:
Main Character and it MUST be programmed to move, collect objects and score
3 or more ground types (hills, rivers etc)
Minimum of 2 DIFFERENT Enemies and they MUST be programmed
Detailed landscape (10 landscape objects minimum)
Introduction and Directions how to play
MUST have 2 or more item types to pick up or collect for health, points, etc
The player MUST score some sort of points. A point counter must be displayed.
A Win/Loss MUST be programmed so it is displayed at the end of the game
Extra Credit for an object PROGRAMMED to follow a path!

Make your terrain large! You can always add or delete but sometimes its easier to start big!
Use the Planning Worksheet! It's ok to change what you had planned!

WHEN YOU ARE DONE...
TIP!
If you haven't already, create a folder on your DESKTOP
Name it KODU or KODU Games!
EXPORT to THIS folder!
Go to the main menu
Press ESCAPE (ESC) to exit
Press HOME button
Select Exit to MAIN MENU
Select LOAD WORLD
Find the game you have been creating
Left click on the game
Select EXPORT
A new dialog box will pop up
On the left, select DESKTOP
The file name should show at the bottom with YOUR creator name
Do NOT change the name!!!!
Select SAVE
Select CONTINUE
A file has now been created and is located in the folder on your desktop!
HOW TO TURN IN YOUR GAME!!!!
Go to our Classroom in TEAMS
Select Assignments
Select
KODU GAME FINAL!
Scroll down to MY WORK
Click +ATTACH
Click UPLOAD FROM THIS DEVICE
Select DESKTOP (on the left)
Find the downloaded file and select it (it should be a KODU file)
Click OPEN
Wait for file to upload!
File will show up below under My Work
CLICK TURN IN!
NOTE: There MUST be a file (download of project) attached to get credit. Simply clicking TURN IN will not do!!!
