Typing.com ASSIGNMENT!

Intermediate: Short Paragraphs :: Due FRIDAY, March 11 :: 10 Points

Typing:

1. Log in to typing.com

2. Click Lessons

3. On Intermediate Tab, Click Short Paragraphs (this is due FRIDAY, March 11): 10 Pts.

4. Begin Typing (Please DO NOT GO PAST THIS LESSON! It will RESET if you do!)

NOTE!!! No late TYPING will be accepted!!!!

If you are finished or waiting, work on Clever!

  1. Students click on the Clever icon on the desktop

  2. Sign in using the username & password (same as logging into computer)

  3. Click on the square that says iReady

  4. Continue until time is up!

Lessons have been assigned to them based on their diagnostic test results both in Math and Reading. Within each lesson are brain break games. The district is pushing a goal of 45 minutes per week on Online Lessons in ELA and 45 minutes per week in Math to close the gaps found in the diagnostic. Math and ELA are providing some of that time during the week, but not all.

TINKERCAD!

What you NEED to know!!!!

WHAT ARE WE LEARNING: TinkerCAD, an easy-to-use 3D CAD design tool...LESSONS!

WHY IS IT IMPORTANT: Gives the user the ability to take something that's 3D and represent it in 2D. It is essential to all industries that use 3D modeling like architects, engineers and game designers!

HOW WILL MY TEACHER KNOW WHAT I LEARNED: You will complete an assignment in TinkerCAD and upload files you have completed through TEAMS!

Log in to our class on TinkerCad!

Your username has been made for you!

Click PERIOD BUTTON (below) to log in to YOUR class period to TinkerCAD

Select Join with NICKNAME

Your "Nickname" is your FIRST NAME and LAST NAME and YOUR PERIOD NUMBER

Plane Body+Cone: 10 points (part 1)

Wings and Tail: 20 points (part 2/3)

Engine /Fire: 10 Points (part 3)

Canopy: 5 points (part 3)

Name on Workplane: 5 points (part 3)

TOY JET ASSIGNMENT!

Here is how to continue...

  • Hover over the TOY JET created last class period!

  • Click TINKER THIS (blue button)

TIP! (before you begin!)

  • Change your Snap Grid to 0.25 mm

  • (it defaults back to 1 mm when we close the program!)

Rotate the workplane view

Using your mouse, RIGHT click and pull to the left to view the toy jet from the back like shown (left)

To make the wing let's duplicate the Tail...

Click anywhere in the blue workplane to deselect.

Select the Tail

Hold down the ALT key (next to the space bar) on the keyboard and click and pull the tail to the left.

This will make a copy of the tail

Rotate the Tail 90°

Tip: hover over the curved arrow on the top of the tail. Carefully click and pull to rotate. Once begun you can enter the degrees in the dialog box and click enter on your keyboard


Drop the wing to the workplane...


Press 'D' on your keyboard to drop the "wing" to the workplane

Move the wing forward on the body of the jet....

Use the UP arrow key to nudge the wing forward on the jet (use your best judgement to placement)




Resize the wing to 40mm x 24mm...

Click one of the white handles on the wing and change he lengthwise dimension dialog box to 40 and the width dimension dialog box to 24 then click enter on your keyboard.


Let's hide the jet body...

Select the body (the grouped cylinder and cone) and click the Hide Selection button

(located to the top right in the inspector box, it looks like a lightbulb)



Duplicate the wing...

Select the wing

Hold down the ALT key (next to the space bar) on the keyboard and click and pull the tail to the RIGHT.

This will make a copy of the wing

Mirror the new wing...

With the new wing selected, click the MIRROR tool (top right toolbar, it looks like 2 triangles with a line in-between)

Hover over the lines to decide which arrow to click to mirror!

Align the wings...

Select BOTH wings (hold the shift Key to select both) or draw an imaginary box around both wings (not the tail)

Click the ALIGN tool (on the top right corner...it looks like a line with 2 boxes)

Click the dot in the TOP LEFT to align

Change the workplane....

Pull the Workplane tool (located on the Top right Corner ir press W on your keyboard!) and drag it to the INSIDE end of the right wing until you see the Orange Workplane box (see left). Then let go of your mouse or click to set the workplane

Remember if it is in the wrong place simply click the undo button (top left curved arrow) or press ctrl + z

Putting the wings together!

Select the LEFT wing.

Press 'D' on your keyboard to drop the "wing" to the workplane. The wing should now touch the other wing!

SELECT BOTH WINGS AND CLICK THE GROUP TOOL

Bring the Body (cylinder and cone) back!

Click the Show All button (top right toolbar, looks like a lightbulb)

Move the workplane back to horizontal

Tip: Click the workplane tool and drag it to any white space to reset

Align wings, tail and body...

Select ALL (ctrl + A) or draw an imaginary box around all objects

Click the ALIGN tool (on the top right corner...it looks like a line with 2 boxes)

Click the dot in the CENTER near the BACK of the jet

GROUP EVERYTHING!!

Tip: Draw an imaginary box around the objects or click ctrl + A on you key board (select All)

Click the GROUP button (on the Top right, it looks like a square and circle combined)
