5 MINUTE TYPING TEST!

Typing:

1. Log in to typing.com

2. Click TESTS (located on the top next to Lessons)

3. TAKE THE 5 (FIVE) MINUTE TYPING TEST (this is due TODAY): 10 Pts for the week (Test + Lesson).

4. Begin Typing !!

NOTE!!! No late TYPING will be accepted!!!!

If you are finished or waiting, work on Clever!

  1. Students click on the Clever icon on the desktop

  2. Sign in using the username & password (same as logging into computer)

  3. Click on the square that says iReady

  4. Continue until time is up!

Lessons have been assigned to them based on their diagnostic test results both in Math and Reading. Within each lesson are brain break games. The district is pushing a goal of 45 minutes per week on Online Lessons in ELA and 45 minutes per week in Math to close the gaps found in the diagnostic. Math and ELA are providing some of that time during the week, but not all.

TINKERCAD!

WHAT ARE WE LEARNING: TinkerCAD, an easy-to-use 3D CAD design tool...LESSONS!

WHY IS IT IMPORTANT: Gives the user the ability to take something that's 3D and represent it in 2D. It is essential to all industries that use 3D modeling like architects, engineers and game designers!

HOW WILL MY TEACHER KNOW WHAT I LEARNED: You will complete an assignment in TinkerCAD and upload files you have completed through TEAMS!

Log in to our class on TinkerCad!

Your username has been made for you!

Click PERIOD BUTTON (below) to log in to YOUR class period to TinkerCAD

Select Join with NICKNAME

Your "Nickname" is your FIRST NAME and LAST NAME and YOUR PERIOD NUMBER

TOY JET ASSIGNMENT!

Here is how to continue...

  • Hover over the TOY JET created last class period!

  • Click TINKER THIS (blue button)

TIP! (before you begin!)

  • Change your Snap Grid to 0.25 mm

Now let's add the jet engine detail!

Change the workplane....

Pull the Workplane tool (located on the Top right Corner) and drag it to the BACK end of the cylinder until you see the Orange Workplane box (see left). Then let go of your mouse to set the workplane

Remember if it is in the wrong place simply click the undo button (top left curved arrow) or press ctrl + z


Adding jet engine detail to the back...

From our shapes box, add a TUBE to the workplane


Scale the TUBE...

With the TUBE selected, click the bottom right WHITE HANDLE

Enter 8 in each of dimension dialog boxes

Click ENTER on the keyboard

(this will make the diameter of the TUBE 8mm dia.)



Color the TUBE...

Select the TUBE

In the inspection dialog box click the solid color and change to BLACK or DARK GRAY


Align the Tube with the jet...

Select ALL (ctrl + A) or draw an imaginary box around all objects

Click the ALIGN tool (on the top right corner...it looks like a line with 2 boxes)

Click the dot in the CENTER near the TOP of the jet

Change the Tube thickness...

Select the Tube

Click the WHITE HANDLE in the CENTER of the tube to display the dimension dialog box.

Enter 4 in the dimension dialog box and click ENTER on your keyboard

(this will make the TUBE 4 mm thick)



Adding "fire" from the tube...

Add a CONE to the workplane


Change the cone diameter...

With the cone selected, click the bottom right WHITE HANDLE

Enter 7 in each of dimension dialog boxes

Click ENTER on the keyboard

(this will make the diameter of the cone 8mm dia.)


Change the cone color...

Select the cone

In the inspection dialog box, click the solid color and change to ORANGE



Move the workplane back to horizontal

Click the workplane tool and drag it to any white space to reset



Align the Cone with the jet...

Select ALL (ctrl + A) or draw an imaginary box around all objects

Click the ALIGN tool (on the top right corner...it looks like a line with 2 boxes)

Click the dot in the CENTER near the BOTTOM/BACK of the jet

Raise the Cone to inside Tube...

Select Cone

Click the Black Triangle

In the dimension dialog box on the bottom right (this indicates the height from the workplane), enter 1.

Click ENTER on the keyboard

Cone should be centered in the TUBE

Add bevel to Tube...

Select the TUBE

In the inspection dialog box, change the BEVEL dimension to 5

Click ENTER on the keyboard

GROUP ALL...

Select ALL (ctrl + A) or draw an imaginary box around all objects

Click the GROUP button (on the Top right, it looks like a square and circle combined)


Multicolor?

With everything grouped and selected, click the solid button in the inspection dialog box.

Make sure MULTICOLOR is selected

To deselect an object of group, simply click anywhere on the workplane



Let's add a canopy to our jet...

Add a HALF SPHERE to the workplane



Change the width of the half sphere...

With the half sphere selected, click the BLACK HANDLE on the right side (NOT THE CORNER)

Enter 9

Click ENTER on the keyboard



Change the height of the half sphere...

With the half sphere selected, click the WHITE HANDLE on the TOP/CENTER of the half sphere

Enter 4

Click ENTER on the keyboard




Change the half sphere color...

Select the half sphere

In the inspection dialog box, click the solid color and change to GRAY

Click TRANSPARENT

Click ENTER on the keyboard




Align the half sphere with the jet...

Select ALL (ctrl + A) or draw an imaginary box around all objects

Click the ALIGN tool (on the top right corner...it looks like a line with 2 boxes)

Click the dot in the CENTER near the BOTTOM/FRONT of the jet

Deselect the objects by simply click anywhere on the workplane



Raise the half sphere to the top of the jet...

Select the half sphere

Pull up on the Black Cone/ Triangle

In the dimension dialog box on the bottom right (this indicates the height from the workplane), enter 8.

Click ENTER on the keyboard

Half sphere should be partially on top of the jet


Nudge the Half Sphere...

Select the half sphere

Using the UP arrow on the keyboard, nudge the half sphere back a bit on the jet

NOTE: DO NOT GROUP THE CANOPY TO THE JET!!! It will lose transparency.

Add YOUR name to the workplane!

Select the TEXT tool

In the inspection dialog box, click the TEXT box and type your first name

Deselect by simply click anywhere on the workplane

GETTING CREDIT!

REMEMBER to add your NAME to the workplane!

  • Drag the TEXT shape onto your workplane

  • Use the Text Dialog box to enter your first name!

ONCE COMPLETED!

  • Click the HOME BUTTON to view your entire workplane

  • Click SEND TO (on the TOP RIGHT!)

  • Go to our Classroom in TEAMS

  • Select Assignments

  • Select

    • TinkerCAD: Chess Pawn!

  • Scroll down to MY WORK

  • Click +ATTACH

  • Select DOWNLOADS (on the left)

  • Find the downloaded file and select it (it should be called chess pawn.png)

  • Click OPEN

  • Wait for file to upload!

  • File will show up below under My Work

  • CLICK TURN IN!

NOTE: There MUST be a file (download of project) attached to get credit. Simply clicking TURN IN will not do!!!

When you are done:

  • Click TURN IN on the assignment in Teams!!!!

REMEMBER: This assignment is worth 50 points! You will need to make sure you COMPLETE the TOY JET and attach screenshot or downloaded image to assignment TEAMS to get CREDIT!

WITH YOUR NAME ON THE WORKPLANE WHEN COMPLETE!
