Typing Test Tuesday :: Due TODAY :: included in the 10 Points

5 MINUTE TYPING TEST!

Typing:

1. Log in to typing.com

2. Click TESTS (located on the top next to Lessons)

3. TAKE THE 5 (FIVE) MINUTE TYPING TEST (this is due TODAY): 10 Pts for the week (Test + Lesson).

4. Begin Typing !!

NOTE!!! No late TYPING will be accepted!!!!



If you are finished or waiting, work on Clever!

  1. Students click on the Clever icon on the desktop

  2. Sign in using the username & password (same as logging into computer)

  3. Click on the square that says iReady

  4. Continue until time is up!

Lessons have been assigned to them based on their diagnostic test results both in Math and Reading. Within each lesson are brain break games. The district is pushing a goal of 45 minutes per week on Online Lessons in ELA and 45 minutes per week in Math to close the gaps found in the diagnostic. Math and ELA are providing some of that time during the week, but not all.

WHY IS IT IMPORTANT: Learning the programs well helps us be better programmers! We are critical thinkers! Following directions helps us learn! ​

HOW WILL MY TEACHER KNOW WHAT I LEARNED: This week you create a landscape following instructions. Each day you will show the teacher what you have completed step by step!​

Sign in to Kodu!

INSTRUCTION AND OBJECTIVES!

OPEN KODU

Click the ​Kodu Game Lab​ icon on your desktop!​

Sign in

  • Use YOUR FIRST NAME and LAST INITIAL!

  • Example: John Smith= JohnS

  • Pin: 0102

  • Click the "Keep me signed in when Kodu exits" button!

  • Click OK

BACK TO OUR TEST WORLD....

TO BEGIN...

  • Select MY WORLDS

  • Select TEST WORLD

(This is the world we began last week!)

WORLD SETTINGS...

  • Select the WORLD SETTINGS TOOL

  • Scroll through until you find START GAME WITH:

  • Select WORLD DESCRIPTION

  • Press ESC to exit World Settings

Continue...

Press the HOME button

  • Select SAVE MY WORLD

Description...

Next to Description

  • Type a description of your game

  • Tell the user what keys to use to move

  • Tell the user how to win

  • Tell the user what to look out for!

Click SAVE

Play the game...

Click the play button

  • Verify that your description shows up!

Now play it to see if it works!

Exporting you game!

LET'S PRACTICE EXPORTING!

TIP!

Create a folder on your DESKTOP

Name it KODU or KODU Games!

EXPORT to THIS folder!

Go to the main menu

  • Press ESCAPE (ESC) to exit

  • Press HOME button

  • Select Exit to MAIN MENU

  • Select LOAD WORLD

Find the game we just saved (Test World)

  • Left click on the game

  • Select EXPORT


  • A new dialog box will pop up

  • On the left, select DESKTOP

  • The file name should show at the bottom with YOUR creator name

  • Do NOT change this!

  • Select SAVE

  • Select CONTINUE

A file has now been created and is located in the folder on your desktop!

This is how we will save our final game over the next few weeks!
